Payment of tithes and giving of offerings are God’s injunction which unfortunately many people have wandered away from. They have ignored God’s covenant to believers to pay their tithes which is one tenth of their earnings and now sees it as a total wasteful. Some people are of the opinion that by paying tithes, they are helping the pastor or the church. Not at all!

They are not helping the pastor. Rather, they are obeying God’s instruction to ensure that there is enough food in God’s store house which will in turn ensure God’s maximum blessings on all who comply. Have you shied away from paying your tithes? The bible tags it to be robbery. And the consequence is very grave.

Not only that it opens the door to devouring spirits against your harvests, it also attracts curses upon the disobedient. Are you among those that see tithes as giving money to the pastor? You must change your earlier perception about tithe paying. It is for your own good. God wants you to give towards His service so that He will rebuke the devourers for your sake.

If you discover that you are stingy with tithe paying and giving offering or giving generally – whether to people or to the church, you need to cry unto God to give you a new heart. If you have not been paying tithes or giving to support the work of God before now, you must make up your mind to begin to do so and then prove God as He had said.

YOU CAN'T LOSE WHEN YOU TRADE WITH GOD

William Colgate of the famous Colgate Toothpaste discovered this truth early in life that "we usually get more than we give to God and keyed into it" He felt the urge to tithe because he recognized that God was the Giver of all that he possessed, not only of opportunity, but even of the elements which were used in the manufacture of his products.

William Colgate not merely tithed one-tenth of the earnings of Colgate's soap products; but he gave two-tenths, then three-tenths, and finally five-tenths of all his income to the work of God in the world. Today, the blessings he received have outlived him.

"And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life" (2 Kings 4:17). The story of the Shunemite woman is a good illustration. She gave to the prophet of God and got more than she ever thought she could get.

In fact, in her giving, she never expected anything in return. As for getting a child, she must have long given up the idea especially as she and her husband were now very old. But God couldn't ignore her deed of kindness. Though she did not ask for it, she got what she needed most. God will never ignore or forget your deeds and labors of love.

We need to take a cue from this woman. She gave without the mind of getting anything in return. This is the best attitude we should adopt whenever we give, either to God or our fellow mankind. But whether we expect a payback or not, God's principle is to reward every true giver and His reward is usually more than we can ever bargain for.

Galatians 6:9-10 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. We should therefore not be weary in well-doing.

Stay faithful in your tithing and giving to support the work of the Lord. Don't forget those who have devoted all their lives in the labour of the Lord. Remember also, your brethren and strangers who may be in need. Don't forget to entertain them - you may be reaching forth to an angel with a blessing for you.

HOW DO YOU PAY YOUR TITHE FAITHFULLY TO GOD

Tithe payment is the 10% of your total GROSS INCOME earned before any expenditure (total income earned in division by 10). Tithe payment isn’t your "NET INCOME" incur after expenditure. Deuteronomy 14:22 "Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field  bringeth forth year by year"

In nutshell, your tithe payment comes first before any expenditure because God’s business must come first. He owns everything, including your life and soul. Therefore, you must truly tithe all your income before the thought of government tax payment or removal of transport fees and other personal expenses such as food, clothes, house rent, school fees etc.

You are mandated to removed your tithe from any incurred profit, income or gift you made or received before accounting for loses or expenditures. As a newly employed staff; you must removed the tenth percent of your salary before remembering or accounting for transportation fees and feeding expenditure.

You must tithe before accounting for taxation or other miscellaneous expenses. As a business man; you must tithe your income before making any adjustment of your transporting expenses. Your tithe payment comes first before any adjustment or expenses because Almighty God isn't second class or under-developing creator.

Deuteronomy 8:18 "But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day" His sufficiency is greater than our lives because he isn't a beggar but creator of all creativity and givers of wealth and riches. He is not a poor God---but rather a giver and unleashes of powers and wealth.

Haggai 2:8 "The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts" He doesn't need your money or riches but rather need to test your faith and sincerity of service in his vine yard because money is a defense and answereth all things----which without, the propagation of the gospel will be hindered.

Nevertheless, as none working class or a student you must fully tithe any financial gift you received or else, you would definitely find it difficult to obtain divine favor from people. If you are tested of the little cash gift and you failed to redeem your tithe, please don’t expect to be divinely favored again because you refuse to acknowledge your God as a supplier of riches. Philippians 4:19 "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus"

Whenever you tithe faithfully and cheerfully without murmuring or complain; you are spiritually setting up or opening bank account in Heaven for yourself and same time making savings. Whenever, you knee to utter any prayer unto God, instantly his angels will ran a quick check in your Heavenly bank account for remaining balance.

If your account balance exceeds the minimum withdrawal, you will certainly experience financial empowerment and increase but if signifies red due to your unfaithfulness in tithe payment; things will definitely becomes tight for you because God isn’t mocked and neither a beggar. Galatians 6;7 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap”

Remember, God is not a man that can lie. Having said that He will bless those that pay their tithes, you can be rest assured that as you obey, all the blessings reserved for those that comply shall be your portion, in Jesus' name. Kindly pray below prayer points and get right with your God.
